Requirements Question
Hi
I'm fairly new to the game, I began with some days ago with some friends, but I am dead sure I can be described as the ultimate n00b, so I would really appreciate it if you could help me out by clearing a doubt I have regarding Item Requirements. Right now, I'm a monk and I want to get as much HP as possible, I usually play full support. So I thought the best way to go was to change from my 2-hand staff into Wand and Off-hand thing. I went into GWW to check for items I could make in collectors or weaponsmiths that give HP bonuses (I am in Yak's right now) and I found out the HP bonuses for Monk equipment I can get are very small or non existant, in comparison to other things. What's more interesting is that I found a Cane I can make and a Inscribed Charkam that give Health +20 and +30, with items I can easily get. Those items have a "Domination Magic" requirement. My question is this: I can afford to lose the energy bonus, or even the damage since I don't attack, but I want the health. If I don't have any domination magic (Level 0, I mean), do I still get the full HP bonus? Because if it is this way, I might not use monk equipment, but rather any kind of equipment as long as I get HP. I understand that Halving the casting time or skill recharge is important, but maybe I could use one item that gives HP and the other one that gives those attributes. Thanks in advance |

You will still get the full HP bonus. The only thing the requires the requirment is the thing that the requirment is listed next to.
As in when it says: Damage 1-2 (requires 5 awsomeness) HP+999 Energy -5 The only thing that requires the "5 awsomeness" is the damage. |

You can also equip a shield as an offhand to gain a boost to armor. Any shield for which you don't meet the requirements will still give you half of the additional protection.
Example: a +16 armor shield on a caster character will supply +8 armor plus any additional buffs shown such as hp or armor vs xx.

Some items have multiple effects, each effect with their own requirement. For example, an off-hand item might give +5 energy if you have more than 50% health and +3 energy if you are hexed. These effects are cumulative, so the off-hand will give between +0 and +8 energy depending on certain factors.

Something else to keep in mind is that you have 4 readily available sets of weapons. This means you can have a sword and shield on set #1 (for extra health/armor), then a wand/offhand on set #2 (for half casting and recharge). Once you get further in to the game, you'll also want to use slot 3 and 4 for other things.
